Did you know that getting a beautiful smile is a lot simpler than it was just 5 years ago?

Everywhere you look- movies, television and magazines picture perfect smiles are present.

Renewing your smile is an exciting venture. Anybody can do it- it depends on what you want and what you are willing to spend. These procedures are cosmetic in nature and not covered by insurance like plastic surgery.

Let’s examine some options to straighter or whiter teeth or both.

To straighten teeth a simple option for some is recontouring your teeth. This involves lightly reshaping your enamel. No anesthesia is required and the results can make a big difference. For straighter teeth many adults are getting traditional braces or invisible braces. With the advances in orthodontic procedures and products it can take less time to move the teeth into better alignment. And the results are phenomenal because it not only straightens your teeth but can change the shape of your face as well.

Beautiful woman with a whiten perfect smile outdoor with a green backgroundAdd whitening to either of the above and double your results. Everyone is doing it! It’s very simple much like coloring your hair it just takes some time. We can fit you with custom at home bleaching tray or use a power whitening system like ZOOM where you have a gel applied to your teeth which is then activated by a light. We also have preformed disposable whitening infused wax trays which produce nice results. Depending on which system you use your teeth can be amped up several shades in a short time.

If that is out of your budget range there are plenty of over-the-counter products that can provide modest to good results, however they may not last as long. And if you don’t get the results you desire you can always go to the dental office for advice and treatment.

Another option to both straighter and whiter teeth in one procedure that has long lasting results is porcelain veneers. They are simple facings of porcelain that overlay and are adhered to your teeth. You pick the color, size and shape! We will discuss veneers in more detail in a later column.

If you do chose any of these options for a rejuvenated smile you can enjoy the additional benefit of better overall health and increased self esteem providing you a confidence to be daring.

What are you waiting for? You are worth the investment!

Making brilliant smiles,

Andrea
